Gerard graduated from Erasmus University in Rotterdam in 1990. He was admitted to the Amsterdam Bar in 2000 and joined NautaDutilh laterally as a partner, heading the Arbitration Practice, on 1 September 2006. He obtained his PhD degree in 2008. Gerard specializes in both arbitration and litigation. Gerard acts as counsel to Dutch, foreign, and multi-national corporations, as well as to governmental bodies, in high value matters in a variety of disputes. In addition, Gerard is involved in high profile arbitration associated court litigation, such as the enforcement of arbitral awards, the setting aside of arbitral awards, and interim measures in support of arbitral proceedings. Gerard also frequently sits as arbitrator. Gerard is also Professor of Arbitration & Dispute Resolution at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam and secretary general at P.R.I.M.E. Finance, the global arbitration institute for the financial markets, and he is a member of the Advisory Board of the Netherlands Arbitration Institute and of the Arbitration Commission of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). Gerard was individually ranked in Chambers and Partners’ Global Guide, editions 2004-2017.

Edgard H.M. Creemers

Edgard graduated as a Master of Science in Bio-organic Chemistry at Leiden University in 2001. Following his studies, he started as a graduate trainee at ABN AMRO Asset Management before moving on to ABN AMRO Corporate Finance. In 2006 Edgard joined FMO as an Investment Officer in the Africa Department. Following a secondment to Citi in London, Edgard became a Senior Investment Officer for Agribusiness first in Latin America, later in Asia. Per 2015 Edgard switched to manage InvestInFuture, a Dutch VC fully owned by a foundation, focusing in furthering young entrepreneurship in the Netherlands. In 2018 Edgard has started his own VC fund, Guide Plus Sustainable Investment Fund, focusing on investing in early stage companies that help prevent Climate Change. Extracurricular activities include: member of the City Council in Oegstgeest (since 2018); and Board member of various companies, currently the Eisenhower Kliniek in Den Haag.
